Assemble kit for UM2?

Didier Klein, the website is not in a language you realize.

this picture was meant for illustration purposes only. and there are more others pictures of the KIT on our website.

in your last sentence, its not what i say, but you're absolutely right only if we talking about Closed Source.

See all products are open source compared to those who did not.

The world is moving towards open source, see the most successful products: Android, Linux, Arduino, Reprap, etc...

You think Ultimaker2 could succeed without this fact?

I think it could. But you most certainly couldn't.

You are basically using the image of the Ultimaker2 to sell your 'parts'.

Its called false advertising. Basically. Its wrong.

Indeed i don't understand the text but you are not selling an Ultimaker 2 so you should not have any pictures of an Ultimaker 2

It's like if i sell a car and put a picture of a ferrari but i really sell a lada, false advertising indeed ;)

I couldn't help reading this post all the way through... absolutely fascinating, appalling and irksome all at the same time.

I have to say that I do feel sorry for shamai_k... it is an elaborate scam GoGoshop (Israel) is running here. GoGoshop even posts up Github assembly instructions here which makes it look as if Ultimaker do indeed do a self assembly kit... ( OP's broken link here)

I can only conclude that you were a bit hard on the OP cloakfiend... after the site is roughly translated I think I would probably have believed it to be a genuine Ultimaker product too and the lowlife is still selling it (I might even buy one cos I'm also a mug for a bargain ;))... I can only hope you/shamai_k got his money back and Ultimaker are doing everything in their power to help him out if he didn't/hasn't?

Can you (shamai_k)/somebody/anybody let us know please so that nobody else gets 'mugged off' by this 'charlatan' or others like him.

This is clearly the slippery downside of 'open source'!

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
