PLA printed on film/surface/substrate

Dear all,

Anybody ever tried to print PLA on whatsoever film/surface/substrate. I am desperately looking for PLA films but is difficult to find in the market something doesn`t cost a fortune. Anybody some suggestion? wisdom?

At the moment PLA is employed in:

+medicine > price range to 1000 euro per sqm....due to production process, mechanical properties & standards , very out of range

+food > bags of salad, daily consumable, fresh food use packaging in some kind of PLA...the quality available in re-using the material is poor, often undesirable and some tests doesn`t really see promising

+...?

I tried to print also on:

+ fabric: due to the texture of the fabric itself, small objects become a limit (under 5 mm), therefore I am addressed more toward an homogeneous continuous material, like some kind of plastic

+LDPE and PP: PLA stick on it but poorly, not very advisable

+acrylic: PLA stick on it but weakly, I noticed instead that soft PLA stick better on it, probably due to the material micro-structure itself, anyway still not convincing

someone has better understanding? or chemistry knowledge? or see the light at the end of the tunnel :? :p

    I had some interesting results printing .1mm - .5mm layer height on glass, using PVA glue and water dried on the glass, hairspray, and nothing. The hairspray worked best with 2x .1mm layers but the single layer was interesting. Bed needs to be well leveled and beyond 10omm square the surface needs to be really flat. Unfortunatly, my bed has a raise in the back middle and I've not been able to source a thick enough piece of glass yet. I could post a video of the result if interested.
