To JUST make the Ultimaker extruder

Recommended Posts

I want to make the Ultimaker extruder and feed, so essentially everything for extrusion for use in another printer, would these cover the stuff I need? https://shop.ultimaker.com/en/parts-and-upgrades/knurled-bolt-kit-version-3.html , https://shop.ultimaker.com/en/parts-and-upgrades/v2-hot-end-upgrade.html , https://shop.ultimaker.com/en/parts-and-upgrades/extruder-drive-upgrade.html , https://shop.ultimaker.com/en/parts-and-upgrades/bowden-tube.html

If not, what am I missing, and where can I get it?

i think you also need the filament drive mecanism. wooden parts and ballbearings.

(there where the stepper motor sits and the extruder-drive-upgrade goes in)

you find the building instructions on wiki helpful i think.

its not in the shop like this..

but you can email the sales team and they will find a solution for you.

you could source these parts yourself.. dont forget the small extruder pulley.

there are free lasercut drawings available online on thingiverse.

you need

8mm bitchwood

4mm delrin or acryl glas

    • "Back To The Future" using Generative Design & Investment Casting
Designing for light-weight parts is becoming more important, and I’m a firm believer in the need to produce lighter weight, less over-engineered parts for the future. This is for sustainability reasons because we need to be using less raw materials and, in things like transportation, it impacts the energy usage of the product during it’s service life.
