Well, the part is fundamentally not designed for FDM printing, because it has no natural flat area.

So, you are going to need supports, and fairly close ones as well. Use lines, not grid. You will have to go into expert mode for all this.

Also, print as low a temperature as you can go, and no faster than 30mm/sec. Keep the fans blowing all the time at 100%; it's not going to affect anything negatively and can only help.

Print the part on its side, with the text facing the front of the UM.

What if you print it just like you position it on your last photo?

    That could work.

yes it works, but the quality is poor.

you can see by yourself, the support was hard to remove and left the side not really soft

Does it have to be this exact shape or can you just make it easier for yourself and make the bottom flat?

If so you could just print it. The holes would probably print just fine as well without support.

'design for 3D print' is really a thing. You can 3D Print a lot of things, and this as well, but you could make it a lot easier for yourself and modify the design a little bit if it allows it.

Well, the part is fundamentally not designed for FDM printing, because it has no natural flat area.

3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. It all starts with making a virtual design of the object you want to create. This virtual design is made in a CAD (Computer Aided Design) file using a 3D modeling program (for the creation of a totally new object) or with the use of a 3D scanner (to copy an existing object). A 3D scanner makes a 3D digital copy of an object. A few months ago, I got the services from "Iannone 3D" who provides best FDM 3D Printing Services (ABS, Nylon, PC, Ultem, etc.) in the New Jersey area.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
