A study of Ultimaker ?

Recommended Posts

Posted · A study of Ultimaker ?

I have not found yet a paper about Ultimaker. I mean :

- a study of the mechanics with a lot of sinuses and cosinuses.

- about the stiffness of the frame

- the electronics and the programming

- thermodynamics

There are plenty of published papers about REPRAP printers, covering all the aspects

you are asking about.

Just learn to use google. In the first 5mins I found (specifically containing references to Ultimakers)

An Investigation of the Methods and Applications of Personal 3D Printing Technology

William Barksdale, Steven Daniel, Sandeep Dinesh, Nick Daniel, Kyle Pierce, Sean Smiley

http://williambarksdale.com/3DPrinter-Proposal.pdf

A new Paradigm for Open Robotics Research with the C++ Object Oriented Mechanics Library

http://www.iearobotics.com/downloads/pa ... city12.pdf

Exploration of Multi-Material Additive Manufacturing

http://shelley.sakuda.us/files/ME495%20 ... Report.pdf

On the viability of the open source development model for the design of physical objects

Lessons learned from the RepRap project

http://fablabeindhoven.nl/wp-content/up ... n-2010.pdf

The thermodynamics are the same for all repraps so any paper on that will help (there are loads)

The electronics is Arduino, for which you can find anything you want to know about with google

The mechanics are just an implimenntation of very standard designs, so there must be hundreds of papers on that

if you look.

C.
