Faster (Semi Manual) Material Change (Video)

First of all this isn't for a newbie.

Go to Material/Printcore -- Material 1/2 and use 'Move'. It will preheat the Core. As soon it starts to be around 60-70 rotate the wheel fast to semi-atomic.

Remember this is manually. But much faster than using the option 'Change' but that option is the best if you are a new user.

Also to insert a new material is better if you just use the 'Load' option. Because it will preheat to the temperature of the material it has detected (or the one you set manually) and will leave the filament ready for the next print.

Anyhow, I prefer this way to speed things up.

If you go the manual route, just heat, insert "the wedge" into the feeder, and pull out the filament :)

The disadvantage of manual loading is I usually push the material to far in, so I end up with to much material being primed, and the UM3 priming position is really low to the bed, so you end up with a mess and a dirty nozzle....

Indeed that's why I prefer newbies using load :D

Manually it feeds a bit too much on the first prime making the filament purge a bit of a mess.

Anynow if you push manually and then take back 1cm that should be ok since it purges around 25mm (the nozzle length + heatbreak more or less).
