I use Cura 3.2 for the Mark2 and performed the dock calibration. As it works I can only recommend this...

I checked my Directory Ultimaker Cura 3.2/plugins/postprocessingPlugins/scripts and it is listed Mark2Tweaks.py so I take it this is enabled automatically so you don't see it in the plugins in cura

Nope it doesn't work like that, you gotta actually copy it into the plugins directory and then start cura and check the menu ?

Ok Im confused hear I have a Directory called

Program Files/Ultimaker Cura 3.2/Plugins then there's 39 Directories after that ???? none of which are called plugins ???? except PluginBrowser

if I follow Git hub it suggests it want to be in directory cura-3.2-resources\scripts

and under resources it has

Definitions

extruders

images

scripts

variants

totally confused??

when I originally set up cura I followed the instruction on the Mark 2 web pages which I printed off last year

scripts translates to plugins/plugins/Post processingPlugin / scripts which is where I put the file??

That's ok. @rajilpahuja: "Mark 2 Tweaks" is a post-processing script, not a plugin.

@bob-hepple: In Cura choose "Extensions -> Post Processing -> Modify G-Code -> Add a script"

It should be in the list.

I had almost forgotten its post-processing, but that thing solved all my extra movement issues ?

Hey guys,

I'm having a little problem causing low quality dual color prints:

On every layer, the switched printhead always go touch the printed part first before printing the prime tower.

This make the oozed filament stick to the print instead of the tower. Really annoying.

It seems to be caused by the way mark2 insert the tool change code in cura. It inserts it on the last point on the last printhead pass.

319261157_Mark2Travel.thumb.png.52b2e4fa8ff516269db806a18a396899.png

For example, in this image, after the yellow head 1 print, head 2 gets ready at the switch bay, it goes to point 1 first then goes to point 2, which leaves the oozed filament on the model.

This issue has forced me to turn on ooze shield for dual color print. And also because of this my cura makes worse dual color print than s3d.

I tested this on 2.7, 3.1, 3.2.

Is anyone else having the same issue? Is it possible to improve it?

Thanks

Thanks I didn't know that.

I also couldn't see the script until I copied Mark2Tweaks.py to C:\Program Files\Ultimaker Cura 3.1\plugins\PostProcessingPlugin\scripts

Changed this on all 4 sizes and now no error message and nozzle size now shows when using Mk2 - Many thanks indeed ?

I changed the file to the following to finally get rid of the error:

Quote

[general]
name = 0.4 mm
version = 4
definition = Mark2_for_Ultimaker2

[metadata]
setting_version = 4
type = variant
hardware_type = nozzle

[values]
machine_nozzle_size = 0.4
machine_nozzle_tip_outer_diameter = 1.05

Using the above fix by @yyh1002 I found you can leave the other information in place. ?

tinkergnome

Thank you for not forgetting about this wonderful project Mark2 ....
installed Mark2Tweaks.py (cura-3.2-resources) and my 2 nozzles became just fine to work with. Stopped to visit the place 1 nozzle all super I'm very happy)))))
And again thanks to everyone who took part in the development of this project YOU gave us the opportunity to get acquainted with two-tone printing at minimum cost. ))))

I tried printing with the post processing script but the new head still go touch the model first. I'm using 3.4.

I need to check this too, but it can just be that UM isnt supporting the script now, hence downgrading maybe the only option for now.

I found that in my case the touching problem was caused by UltiGcode flavour. I switched back to Marlin and everything became perfect.
