I highly recommend @amedee 's firmware for the UMO(+). By selecting the printer you have you get working defaults and improved/additional functionality for free. And it allows for additional tinkering without the need to know how to compile firmware
Also note that the last code change in the official UMO/UMO+ firmware branch is dated January 2015, so all UMO/UMO+ firmwares coming with Cura since 15.04 are exactly the same (to be precise, use the same source code, as they are re-build each time and have different build dates) -- So there is no best, they are all equal
My fork offers (minor) bug fixes and additional goodies. It is widely used and safe to use.
