it says it is 94/95C when turnd on

Hi

 

I just baught me a new thermal coupler for my umo, but i have a problem. is says it is 94 or 95 C when i turn on the machine. i tryed to toutch the hot end and it is room temprature. i have tried to heat the hotend but after a few seconds it gives me the error message   heating failed. 

 

what can i do to fix this?

    I'm guessing there are many different types of thermocouples.  Or at least there are a few types.  A thermocouple is made from two different pure metals that touch together at one point where you measure temperature.  It matters which two metals you get.  I think you should find out which two metals are normally used on reprap printers and get the same type of thermocouple.

     

    You connected the thermocouple to the two spots on the screw connector on the top of the UMO print head, right?  Did you tighten the screws down well?  It also matters I think what kinds of wires you use from the thermocouple to the connector - you have to use the same type of wire (e.g. copper for both wires).
