Well, it is safe to say it is an Ultimaker 3 on the left and an Ultimaker 2+ on the right... and the lamp for the object in the middle seems broken. :D

Rumors, thoughts and comments are welcome! :D

Hello :)

I have just bought an Ultimker 3. Should I tell them to wait? When is this new one becoming available?

You might! I can't tell you when it will be released, but if you look at our previous teasers, it was never very far from the actual release.

I'm sure if you talk to your reseller you can come to an agreement (like put it on hold until the release and then decide).

Hi Thank you for you reply.

will it be more expensive? Better than the Ultimaker 3 or just different or bigger?

@Fulv - keep in mind it might not meet your requirements.  For example, it might not be able to print PLA.  or it might cost a million euros.  But it does appear to be a dual filament printer like the Ultimaker 3.

No problem! I guess this is where we realize we've only launched a teaser.. these answers will require some more patience. Sorry ;)

Will it print tiny parts better? Will you take a trade-in for a barely used 3 Extended? ;)

We don't (we don't do direct sales anymore) but if you want, you might want to check if your reseller offers something like that :)

Yay, the Guessing Game is on! Let's analyze every pixel of every frame to try and discover what we're going to be told in a few weeks! :p And we can do it in 4k!

So, let's get the obvious out of the way:

    - It's obviously a dual-core printer,

    - Same way to get the spools on the back of the machine, but no protection for the spools shown,

    - Looks like it uses the same printcores as the UM3/E

    On to the changes:

    - It has a front door that opens on both sides, and it looks like it uses big magnets to stick to the upper frame,

    - It is definitely wider and cube-shaped, so, I'd say the print volume is up to 30*30*30, maybe 40*40*40. (I haven't gone as far as measuring pixels from stills! ;) )

    - Looks like a big touchscreen to replace the small display and the selection wheel, which is welcome news.

    - No dilithium-powered energy matrix, I am disappointed.

Problem was that dilithium was very difficult with legislation, being an accidental space-time warp risk. So we removed that feature last second.

it seems that you have swapped the 6mm shafts with the sturdier 8mm ones

and the short belts have different sized pulleys, something like 16/32 teeth?

Some guy in a DeLorean came by and bought all of it. He seemed in quite a hurry. Sorry.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
