Da Clumsy Noob starts working with Diorama type of stuff

I have begun to make things other than the giant fractal stuff. Fractals are part of it. But this is where I break the 'purist mode' of crating things. I have bought other supplies that are made for diorama creation. I also got a couple of 3D Pens to play with for on the spot modding and welding of parts.

These are the first two things I made to test procedures and methods. Not everything can be printed and have the look that I wanted. But, as raw as these are, they are the experiments for a diorama that I have all the parts printed, just not assembled as I am just now returning to health and getting caught up. I will post more on the extreme diorama which is a 14" diameter swamp scene with critters and such.

These are not big as I just wanted to experiment. That is an American Quarter for scale size.

Very nice!  You are truly a maker and an artist.  What are those words?  I can't read it.  "Sater Salls"?

    Oh!! Hahahahaha...

    "Gator Falls."

I used to be around the St. Augustine area and they had a lot of those little 'gator farm' type of roadside things just go out of business. So, I had a lot of fun with that and the crazy trees and roots.

Thank you for the compliment. That means a lot coming from you. As I have begun to return to decent health, I am finally getting started on being caught up. Things to mail. Things to put together more Noobverse stuff, etc.

But I am about to start documenting my 'Swamp Witch' diorama and that will be prep for my 1 meter sized Allosaurus diorama. :)

    Thanks again!!

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
