Hi there

Have been experimenting with the mold feature in Cura and wonder if anyone has considered having the ability to save the mold as an STL so it can then be split into two parts and printed, rather than having to create a one off mold each time

This is not possible in Cura, without much more development effort. The "mold" never exists as a model in Cura, but is produced layer by layer during slicing.

There are other tools much more suitable for what you want to do, eg Meshmixer.

      • Ultimaker Cura 5.6 stable released
Cura now supports Method series printers!

A year after the merger of Ultimaker and MakerBotQQ, we have unlocked the ability for users of our Method series printers to slice files using UltiMaker Cura. As of this release, users can find profiles for our Method and Method XL printers, as well as material profiles for ABS-R, ABS-CF, and RapidRinse. Meaning it’s now possible to use either Cura or the existing cloud-slicing software CloudPrint when printing with these printers or materials
