Here's my entry in the contest, as the Netherlands are big in Logistics I decided to design a set of material handling equipment (MHE)

I made 7 vehicle types, each with a variety in loads to carry, making a total of 22 unique pieces.

stepfile.thumb.png.d843f34530be6131a7a0900a28fc0059.png

Looking from top to bottom;

NAT ; narrow aisle truck (man up)

FLT-2T  ; 2 ton electro forklift

RT ; 1.6 ton Reachtruck

OPT: orderpicktruck with 3 rolcages

Tow ; Towtruck

FLT-4t-;  4Ton Gas powered forklift

FLT_10T ; 10Ton diesel forklift

Print the files as they are, laying flat, I printed them quickly in PLA, using a 0.4 nozzle and 0.15 layer.

You can find all files here on YouMagine, including a step file so you can make any changes in most CAD software, if you make any new variants please share them back....

    Hi everyone

Here we post our own designs for this contest. We hope you enjoy!

Please give us your kind feedbacks.

    BesInnolabs.ir.zipt Regards

    Ali

    www.Innolabs.ir

Ok, here's some feedback. I did not llok at all models, but here's feedback on a few. Though I like the designs, the models are not set up very well if you intended to print them without support.

    doesnotlayflat.thumb.png.207e076700ed9263fb482f67595ec6e0.png

For example, looking at the wheels, you intended to print it without support, on it's side, but the model does not lay flat, as the tank is wider than the base of the trailer.

    2smallStart.thumb.png.27e032a542f28cf16cb1ac905084846f.png

This trailer will have such small detail, such small islands to start on the glass-bed, that they will fail during printing.

    benzwheels.thumb.png.472664d261abb92df942e800878bb65b.png

This bus does not have the wheels optimised for 3d printing, and probably the details of the windows are to small to print.

    image.thumb.png.bcf06e3dc226c1f7e75a51f81bd0c7c7.png

here you have optimized the wheels for printing, but the front of the truck is not touching the buildplate, so it will not print without support

OK, printing out the last of the trial designs. I would not want to upload the files to have an issue that could not be solved. I should have everything ready by Saturday. The designs are done.,...just waiting on the prints to be finished.

Hope that falls within the time frame. ?

    Hey Everyone!

I just signed up to community forum, and this is my submission!

I designed 6 different railway vehicles with various technical drawings that I've found on internet. Each one is based on a specific railway vehicle. There are:

    Paris, France Siemens Avanto

Portland, USA -If I'm not mistaken- Skoda Astra Double Ended

Kuala Lumpur Putra, Malesia Bombardier Advanced Rapid Transit

    Marseille, France Bombardier Flexity Outlook

New York City, USA Bombardier Former IRT Lines

    Toronto, USA Bombardier

To give a proper credit, whole Info is taken from: GeoCities

    Zip File Includes:

    Each Vehicle in Separate Folders

    In each folder:

    Vehicle's .3DM file (Rhinoceros 5)

Vehicle's .stl files as VehicleName_Whole   and Vehiclename_PartX (X is Part Number)

Vehicle Renderings as example; Laid on side, Exploded and Whole

    Reference .JPEG file

My aim on these designs was to simplify each design as much as possible and make them all clearly different at the same time. There were few rules that I had whilst drawing such as all windows and door must be voids.

Also, some of them require a drop of glue to assemble, whilst some are assemblable without glue. If you have a printer with large printbed, you can also print it as a whole!

I hope you all will enjoy them, and best luck for all participants!

If there are any questions or ideas, feel free to contact me!

Ohhhh...ok....Just know that is a processing issue on my side (Asperger;s) so please do not be offended. :) I find the gifs, save them to my hard drive and then slide them in as regular media. I found that linking gifs is very limited and this was the way to go.

Thank you,. no worries :) I am just a dunce at some of those things. Some I get, some go right over me. :) Thank you for the clarification....I just thought the goofy presentation was maybe a bit too 'unserious' for some.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
