Hallo allemaal,

Net als vorig jaar zijn wij van ModelBrouwers op zoek naar een enthousiast persoon (of personen) die graag de techniek van het 3d-printen zou willen tonen op onze jaarlijkse modelbouwdag 'ModelBrouwersDag' genaamd.

Wegens omstandigheden lukt het onze huidige persoon niet om de demonstratie te geven en is het inmiddels kort dag geworden in de aanloop naar het evenement, maar ik hoop dat iemand van jullie ons uit de brand wil helpen. De BrouwersDag is volledig afhankelijk van vrijwilligers, maar met een klein beetje sponsorgeld hebben we 50,- euro vrij kunnen maken om diegene die een demonstratie komt geven wat tegemoed te komen in de (reis)kosten.

David (aka Daid) heeft vorig jaar met een collega een voortreffelijke demonstratie gegeven welke veel bijkijks heeft getrokken. Vragen die je zo al kunt verwachten zijn:

Hoe komt een ontwerp tot stand en hoe wordt het geprint?

Wat is de kwaliteit van het eind product?

De BrouwersDag is een dag waarbij meer dan 600 modelbouwers/bezoekers uit verschillende disciplines (statische modelbouw, radio control, modelspoorbouw, wargaming) en vanuit zowel Nederland als België elkaar treffen. Het draait vooral om gezeligheid het tonen van eigen creaties en uitwisselen van tips en technieken. Daarnaast zullen ook allerhande modelbouwproducten worden verkocht en demonstraties worden gegeven, zoals airbrushing, CNC-frezen, kunstharsgieten en meer.

Kun jij ons uit de brand helpen en een demonstratie geven met Ultimaker, dan zijn zijn de entree en standplaats natuurlijk volledig gratis. Wij zorgen voor tafelruimte, stroom en een geschikte locatie, zodat bezoekers jouw demonstratie goed kunnen volgen.

De BrouwersDag vind plaats op zaterdag 14 september 2013 in de Evenementen HAL Gorinchem.

Bij het printen van voorbeeldjes loop ik gelijk weer tegen probleempjes aan, terwijl ik die normaal nooit heb met de Ulti:-D

Ook gelijk maar even de gebroken achterwielophanging van een Chinese Ferrari Formule 1 vervangen door een Ultimaker geprint exemplaar, lijkt me wel zo toepassselijk:-)

Ik had ook voor een ander projectje een 250Watt borstelloze drie fase motor gereviseerd. Daarvoor had ik uit het modelbouwwereldje een KDS - ESC controller en een servo adjuster (voor de insiders:-) gekocht om de motor te kunnen testen. Staat natuurlijk weer even beter met speciaal daarvoor geprinte passende clamps (de gele) Bosch Rexroth profielen (de donker grijze staanders de liggers zijn de originele aluminium extrusies) en een passend doosje die later weer onder de body gemonteerd zou kunnen worden (donker grijs doosje waar de elektronica componentjes in zitten)

For our foreign mates:

I offerered to demonstrate the Ulti on a big Dutch event for RC models, mostly Big Bad Ass truck models, aeroplanes and some nice demonstrations about airbrushing, (cnc) milling and lathing, use factoring of decalls etc.

While printing examples and gear to show the stuff they could use an Ultimaker for, I experience some little problems I normally never have:-)

At the same time I repaired a cheap Chinese Ferrari Formula 1, which suffered from a broken rear axle. Seemed the most appropiate for the occasion.. :smile:

For another project I revised a 250 Watt power Brushless 3-fase motor. This needed at least a 40 AMPS KDS - ESC. For this purpose I also printed some parts (the yellow clamps, the dark grey extrusions and a qute little box for the electronics.) Which btw, can be used to build the stuff in a safe way under the body in a later stadium.

It was a nice but very busy event yesterday. I was assisted by my brother in law and his two teenager sons. We didn't have time to eat or drink because of all the questions. Public was very curious, enthusiastic and several guys and ladies kept coming back with new questions and requests to print something.

We (mostly my two jung assistants:-) demonstrated several programs like 123D design and catch and I made actually two rather difficult examples. One because it was so tiny, a handwheel with 5 spokes and an axle from 1mm thickness. And an example from clear pla which thickness had to be only 0,18mm !! The guy wanted material for his headlights with leds build into. Both items passed the test off course:-D

We used one laptop for demonstrating 3D programs and the other one to show what was printed at that time. We build the Ultimaker robots, 9 in a row and one after the other. In that way we could break one of the platform to give away at children who kept coming back or after setting an alarm on their cellphone.

I also brought a vacuformer to demonstrate how easy it is to print the molds you need for this thing. I made several blisters and at the time some ladies and one chefcook realised how easy it is to make baking forms for cookies......Fortunately it is possible to build a lowcost one yourself at Protospace in Utrecht. I bought mine years ago for a lot of money and I really don't know where to buy them now.

I brought a huge packet of Ultimaker flyers and a handful from Protospace. If 1% buys an Ultimaker or builds one at Protospace, then there will be 3 new forum users :mrgreen:
