The new interface just reduces the useable workspace and having to move around much more just to see what is happening. Glad to hear of the Sidebar GUI plugin.  Have installed it and happy to have the workspace again.

In Layer view, where are the options about what to see like travels, helpers, etc.?

    EDIT:  Nevermind.  Found it.

For high speed user like me it's very annoying that panes, drop lists and every other ui item fades in and out. It blocks the speed of my workflow. Lucky i'am able to turn this off in Windows and my custom rom of Android. However i notice some ui elements in Cura 4.0, like the print settings, are still performing an fade like behavior. Is this a feature or just a slow ui?

..."I also notice that the tooltips on the move/resize etc. left hand icons are gone"...

Is there any way to get them back? I am new to cura, coming from prusa slicer and it's very confusing to me as to what these tools do. They seem to have tons of options which makes it difficult for me to remember which one does which, especially if I add to the "adjustment tools" with tools from the marketplace. Please help with this issue, thank you.

This is a thread of over a year old. There are tooltips in Cura which tell you what a certain feature does. In the marketplace is also a settings guide plugin which can help you with other settings. Good luck!

Either downgrade to version 4.6, or wait patiently for version 4.9. It has been fixed, but the fix has not yet been published in an official release.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
