The version of Sidebar GUI with an undockable sidebar has been released on the Marketplace for your undocking pleasure.
Please help testing this development snapshot of Sidebar GUI which adds compatibility with Cura 4.11.
You know the drill: download the file and drop it onto the buildvolume in Cura.
Unfortunately, it does not look to function on my end with the 4.11 Beta. I also didn't see anything in the logs that indicated an issue with it loading.
I hope I'm missing something simple, because this is the only plugin I look forward to with each Cura release :P
Thanks for testing! Could you try this development snapshot instead?
The v7.0.0 in the filename refers to the SDK version, not the plugin version.
No issue for me ! thanks a lot
It is collapsible. See the little down-arrow next to where it says "Compatibility mode".
I never played with that. I figured it had to do with the graphics mode. OK, you're off the hook for now. Thanks.
I’m always on-hook…
I may have mentioned this before, but because the plugin does a lot of in-place patching of QML, which can break horribly if the original QML has changed in a version upgrade, I have put in a mechanism in the plugin that it ALWAYS needs an update when a new version of Cura is released. ALWAYS. I'll have a link to a development snapshot here soon.
Edited by ahoebenThank You.
I understand I'm working with a Cura beta version but I've gotten used to the interface with the plugin active and I miss it when it's gone.
You are so right @GregValiant, using Cura without the Sidebar plugin is like eating a burger without a patty 🙂
Careful @Smithy...the Vegans are watching.
Sorry for the delay, here's a development snapshot. Download the file, drop it onto the buildplate in Cura.
Thank's a lot .. So much more user friendly than the standard interface, I don't understand why this is not the standard for Cura?

It's a long story, so I won't bother people with it. We are looking into changes that we can make in the interface as it is now.
Hey, I see you also found the new icon for the measuretool already (that was quick!).

I'm working on a plugin that changes the new GUI in Cura to be more settings-centric by adding back the concept of a sidebar. If you can't get used to the floating panels in the new GUI, there will so

A test-version that should work with both Cura 4.0 and Cura 4.1 is available here: http://files.fieldofview.com/cura/SidebarGUIPlugin-v6.0.0-2019-06-11T21_09_03Z.curapackage Download the file, and d

A new version of the plugin is available from the Marketplace, with full support for Cura 4.0-4.8. The sidebar can be collapsed to a summary for all of them.

All that time typing and all I had to say was thank you.
