UM3 Extended menu unresponsive

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Our school UM3 Extended keeps stating there is a firmware update which we can't apply as our wifi is behind a proxy.  The menu is also very slow and unresponsive, so we can't even access to install from usb.

The update appears on the small lcd screen but scrolling through it appears to take ages and we never get to the bottom to click ignore.

How do we do a factory reset?

What can we do?

Thanks

You should contact your reseller. They should have access to SD cards that you can use to re-flash the firmware. Alternatively, you could also try to see if the slowness is gone if you don't connect the printer to the network (which is probably best done by temporarily blocking it in the router)

There isn't much other advice I can give you, as the factory reset is only accessible by the menu.

Thanks for the advice, denied it access to our wifi and now operating as normal.

Designing for light-weight parts is becoming more important, and I’m a firm believer in the need to produce lighter weight, less over-engineered parts for the future. This is for sustainability reasons because we need to be using less raw materials and, in things like transportation, it impacts the energy usage of the product during it’s service life.
