UM S5 wifi connection - user name needed

Recommended Posts

Posted · UM S5 wifi connection - user name needed

My Ultimaker S5 wants to connect to a wifi network but provides no option for entering a user name, only providing space for a password.

My network requires a username in the format  user@domain.ac.uk

Is there a solution by which I can connect to my WIFI network?

Unfortunately, it is currently not possible.

So there is a utility called conman on the linux box inside the S5.  If you google how to use conman you can set that kind of thing up (username).  But to do that you need to first ssh to the machine so, at least temporarily, you need to use an ethernet cable.

Designing for light-weight parts is becoming more important, and I’m a firm believer in the need to produce lighter weight, less over-engineered parts for the future. This is for sustainability reasons because we need to be using less raw materials and, in things like transportation, it impacts the energy usage of the product during it’s service life.
