GCode Simulator & Printer - Test on Ultimaker

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have developed GCode Simulator & Printer App for Android which allows one to use a tablet/phone with USB-OTG support to control your printer.

Printing from a Galaxy Tab 2 on my Reprap printer with Sprinter/Marlin firmware works great, but I don't know if it works on Ulitmaker printers.

It would be great if Ulitmaker owners could test the GCode Simulator (Free) App and provide feedback.

Find more info on http://www.dietzm.de/gcodesim

Thanks in advance !

Hi Keesjalink,

not sure what you mean with "issue" ?

GCode Simulator & Printer App for Android is available in the Google App Store already.

It works with many printers (reprap, printrbot, ...), I just did not get feedback from Ultimaker users yet.

Please install the free version and try if the basic printer control works on Ultimaker.

If so, printing with the full version should be fine as well.

Thanks

Mathias

Hi all,

is there any progress on this issue yet?

I desperately need to control UM I from a tablet running android.

Thanks, keep up the good work, Kees

Q: For some users, abrasive materials may be a new subject matter. Can you explain what it is that makes a material abrasive when you are not sure which print core to use?
A: Materials which are hard in a solid piece (like metals, ceramics and carbon fibers) will generally also wear down the nozzle. In general one should assume...

Designing for light-weight parts is becoming more important, and I’m a firm believer in the need to produce lighter weight, less over-engineered parts for the future. This is for sustainability reasons because we need to be using less raw materials and, in things like transportation, it impacts the energy usage of the product during it’s service life.
