Weird stopping issues

Hey guys! New printer here. Today i noticed a weird problem. I am making four bed clips, and an lcd knob. The clips have no issue printing but the knob i get the issue. When the printer is working on the clips it is fine. Now when it moves to the knob it works a little bit and then stops. I noticed when it stops i feel and here a click. (Now i am new, so i cant give exact names.) Its the motor where the long threaded bar is. (Stepper motor?) What is going on? Looking at the bed straight on i see the clips are clean. The knobs initial layer/s had some stuff on top. (The knob print looks okay though.) Whats going on? Is it that i am sharing a gcode with two different projects? Also i have this printer next to my staircase, and my cats sometimes jump to that table. Is the bed off? The first layer/s looked good. Thank you in advance.

With power off try pushing the X and Y axes around and see if there is higher friction somewhere.

Is the printer rebooting when this happens?  Does it go back to the same screen as if you unplugged and plugged in the printer?  You may be overloading your power supply.

Also there is a bug/feature in cura that it can move extremely slow on extruder retractions.  You may have "discovered" this feature in cura but I would expect it to happen on every clip.  But the solution is to change retraction speed in cura from 0 to 40.

If none of this helps then please show a 10 second video of what you describe.  Put the video on youtube or similar and provide a link to the video.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.

      • Ultimaker Cura 5.6 stable released
Cura now supports Method series printers!

A year after the merger of Ultimaker and MakerBotQQ, we have unlocked the ability for users of our Method series printers to slice files using UltiMaker Cura. As of this release, users can find profiles for our Method and Method XL printers, as well as material profiles for ABS-R, ABS-CF, and RapidRinse. Meaning it’s now possible to use either Cura or the existing cloud-slicing software CloudPrint when printing with these printers or materials
