I have been running Cura 4.1.  I have two printers, One an Ender 3 Pro and the other a Wanhao I3.  When I upgraded to Cura 4.2 the profiles for the Ender 3 disappeared.  If I switch to the Wanhao I3 I can see the Ender 3 profiles.  I had exported the Ender 3 profiles while 4.1 was loaded.  When I try to import them into 4.2 I get ...

"The machine defined in profile C:/Downloads/1/Ender3B - PLA Pro - 0.28mm.curaprofile (fdmprinter) doesn't match with your current machine (creality_base), could not import it."

I reinstalled 4.1 and can see the Ender 3 Profiles from 4.1.

No. The failed importing was because of a bug. Which is why we do betas 😉 It should be fixed for the 4.2 release.

    It unfortunately isn't fixed.

If I load into the cr-X or a custom machine a cr-10s profile it still doesn't work.

ok, how i can send the config files (i do not have it.. i made with wizard and test...) . there is a process or a directory to check ?

where i can send it ?

    thanks

You can go in Cura to Help > Show configuration folder, then it opens the explorer and shows a folder indicating the version of Cura you are using. You can zip it and send it to us.

@Reverse_Engineer The 'action' button (the big blue one that says slice) changes to a print-over-network/save-to-USB/save-to-file button, this can be changed with the arrow next to it once sliced. Alternatively, after slicing, select 'Export...' and select '*.gcode' in the 'Save as type:' dropdown in the save-window. As a last resort/workaround (for most printers), unzip the .3mf and find the .gcode file within.

Hi @marcottt, I was checking your configuration folder. What I see is that running 4.0 with this folder I already get "Configuration Errors", because apparently you have an Anycubic Kossel Plus loaded, but we don't have this printer definition by default in Cura. Probably you got it from another source or you are using another cloned version of Cura that includes this definition.

If I upgrade to Cura 4.1 or Cura 4.2, I don't see any problem except the aforementioned one. So the Version Upgrade works well in my computer. The only way to lose all your configuration is either deleting the folder manually or clicking in this "Reset" button. In case you pressed that button, a backup is stored, so you can always recover from it.

Please let me know if this is the same behaviour that you see.

    sorry i did not understand.
Yes, i have an anycubic kossle plus,  the cura application is from official site. The profile i do not remember where are from (but i think to have make it manually).

When i try to upgrade i loose configuration, and i cannot restore from backup because application tell me is a wrong release.

I wrong something ? did not press reset either did not delete any folder.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
