items to use under pressure

Posted · items to use under pressure

Good afternoon can anyone tell me if i could make a plastic product to use as a safety device for psi pressure is this something

that can be done. I want to make small disc like shapes to use in a water pump.

I need the disc to burst at 15.050 psi. If anyone knows anything about this i would be grateful if you could drop me a note.

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the Forum! Unfortunately, you will not be able to 3D print a burst disk. There are just too many variables involved. A burst disc has to have very consistent material properties, and has to be machined to a very exact shape, as to reliably burst at the design pressure.
