Posted · Starting every layer with the same extruder

Hi guys,

Since my previous post may be to unspecific, i will describe my problem again:

I use a few UM5S printers with PLA and PVA. I want every layer printed in the same order, starting with support and then the model. So far all my recent projects looked worse then last years prints (with UM3). The only thing i can think of is that the time-saving "start layers with last active extruder' process gives a bad surface finish.

Is there a way to set this up in Cura? I have the time for more extruder changes...

Sincerely,

Michael

@johnse thank you very much for confirming that.

I am not sure but all older prints look much better even with zero gap between support. The print cores are calibrated and i am using Ultimaker material but still: everything i am printing with support looks bad now... meh.

    Hello Koenig Ubu,

Did you find a solution to your problem ?

Because I would like to do exactly the same, start every layer with the same extruder.

Thank you in advance for your answer
