What bag/case do you use for transporting your Ultimaker1/2 ?

Hi,

I often demo 3D printing at different events and we bring Ultimaker 1 or now recently started toting the Ultimaker 2 around.

First, we just used a big blue IKEA bag. But it doesn't look too good, you cannot carry it comfortably and it doesn't shield it from rain/snow.

The Ultimaker 2 has a smaller footprint in total but it is a little heavier.

Recently I found and bought this "Base Camp Duffel XL" bag which can barely fit the Ultimaker 2 if you remove the spool holder and wiggle a bit to get it inside. Then you can even carry it on your back!

It's better than the IKEA bag, but it's still not ideal.

The printer is just too heavy/cumbersome to carry, especially since you also usually have rolls and tools to bring.

I would like to have a roller/bag combo which can fit at least an Ultimaker 2 (UM1 would also be nice) in it, can be rolled (on wheels) *and* that would have straps to put on your back to carry.

Something similar to this:

but bigger and with wide openings so it's easy to put the Ultimaker inside.

Does anyone know of such a bag?

Preferrably available in Sweden

Thanks,

Daniel

THAT would be a good idea for Daid´s R&D topic :-)

Developing a nice bag for carrying, incl. space for a filament roll and tools, with a nice logo on it...

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
