Already, you should know if it's a HD or HDSC.

 

In the second case, it crashes and printing is not finished.

its a 2GB Sandisk card included with the printer. I have just found a whopping 64MB card in the draw of bits and bobs but to be honest if it is a known firmware fault I think I will wait till monday

Today I got UM 2 but I have a problem with SD card reading. Initial setup and calibration UM2 was without problem, but when I want to print, SD card displays "Reading card ..." and nothing. Of course SD card is inserted has STL and Gcode data.

On MacBook I see that card is functional. I tried to format the card, save only one file UM Robot directly via Cura software to SD card. The result is still the same… "Reading card… and 2…..10, 20 minutes nothing.

So, I re-updated the firmware on UM2 - version 13.11-2. No change. I tried to use another SD card. Nothing…"Reading card"..and endless waiting...

I do not know what else to try, where is a problem?

Can you help me?

I tried to move with both grey cables on the bottom of UM2, but still same msg:-(

Hi Pavels,

Have you tried updating the firmware?

In previous versions the firmware was responsible for some reading errors, but that has been fixed.

(but in those cases it did work prior to the error).

On the picture I also see a cable that looks like it can be damaged.

Would you be comfortable replacing the cable if I would send you a new one?

Hi Sander,

Yes, I did update from CURA - default version, UM2 shows last firmware 13.11-2.

The cable appears damaged, I tried to straighten it, but I do not know if the cable fault of SD card reader!

Could you describe me what cable directly communicates with the SD card?

Hi Pavel,

The grey flat cable communicates between the front panel and the electronics.

This involves the menu but also the SD card.

By the look of your picture I would say your cable broke, so within the cable the wires do no longer

make a proper connection.

Since you already have the cover removed, it is just a very small effort to replace that cable with a new one.

You have also sent me a DM, let sort out details through that.

Hi Sander,

I tried sending already 3 pm and they still show, anyway basically my printer is completely dead now as you have read in my thread 2 days ago but I am working with customer support for that issue, I just need to order spare parts for the extruder since it's completely blocked & I tried many different things to fix it but with no luck.

So I would appreciate the help to order some parts for my UM2 since the online store only sells parts for the original UM.
