Cloud - 6 digit Authentication Code???

Hi Everyone, I use an Ultimaker S5

I used to be able to send prints wirelessly over the cloud in my office network. From time to time, I lost connection and was promted to "sign in to the cloud" in Cura to re-connect. Simple enough, this has happened many times before. Today however, I am also required to enter a 6-digit authenitcation code???

I remember at some point in the past I was asked if I wanted to enable remote printing, which I did, and it took me to a page where I recieved a two factor authentication code. But I never noted this down (because why would you? these are always temporary codes). I suppose this was important to keep as now I am unable to access any of the cloud features without it! and there is no way to reset or recover it! I even had to create a new log-in so I could post here to ask for help.

Things I have tried so far are:

-Perform Cura connect reset via printer
-Re-established Wi-Fi setup via printer

-Updated Ultimaker firmware via printer

-Deleted and re-installed latest Cura

I have attached a screenshot to show my problem, when I click "Lost access to your authenticator app?" it takes me to a page where I am supposed to have an 8-digit backup code?!? Which I do not have either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Frankie

This has nothing to do with your printer, you have enabled the two factor authentication for your UM login. So you it is not only secured with your password but additionally with this code. You are right, the code is a onetime code and normally you have to use an app which is able to generate these codes.

I haven't enabled it for my account, but normally (on other sites) you get the instructions how to configure your app and also the backup codes during the initial setup of the two factor authentication for your login.

I checked it now myself, to enable the two factor authentication you have to scan the QR code with your app (google authenticator or Authy or whatever you use). So maybe you can remember which app you have used in the past, there you will find the code for the login.

    Hi Smithy

Thank you so much, I managed to recall that I had used Auxy as my authenticator (had to go to my app purchase history to remind myself which one it was) and lo and behold! my details for Ultimaker were there! signed in this mornign and everything is back to normal.

Really new system to me! never used this for snything else but at least its safe I suppose lol

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
