So, All was good for about 12hrs and then the message "Air manager fan was unable to rotate at the desired speed. Go to ultimaker.com\ER57." I tried to unload the filament, but the selection are grayed out. No response from the station?

Perhaps you could check the cable between the air-manager and the printer and power-cycle the printer?

or maybe @SandervG has more info?

    /edit/

The error diagnosis page https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/52955-air-manager-fan-is-unable-to-rotate-at-the-desired-speed-er86 has changed to ER86 though, so maybe this helps?

I thought it was also triggered by a bad connection though, hence, check the cables as well.

    Thanks for tagging @robinmdh

Hi @greatg, can you elaborate on what you have been trying? Did you follow the tips via on ultimaker.com\ER57  ultimaker.com\ER86?

Could it be that something is blocking the fan blades rotating?

Regarding unloading being greyed out, are you operating a standalone Ultimaker S5 or do you also have a material station installed? If you have a material station in place, the unload-feature is no longer necessary. The way that the material station operates is that after a print the material will always be unloaded to stand-by in the material station, ready to pick a new material for the next print job. So basically, there should never be filament in your drive train, unless a print is aborted or fails for some reason.

In that scenario, you can do two thing.

    - You can start a new print, and then it will automatically first retract the filament left in there.

    - A workaround could be to swap print cores, if you want to unload the filament but don't want to start a new print. It then also retracts filament first.

If you are operating a standalone Ultimaker S5, it can be that you need to confirm you removed the print first, before you can use any of the other features.

    Hope this helps!

OK. So, the material station works. As soon as I plug in the air manager I keep getting the error that the fan cannot spin? There are no obstructions, firmware updated to latest, filter taken off fan...

I have the same situation as well where the fan is not at the desired speed. ER86. There are no obstructions, fan spins without any issues. Has a space clearance in the back, has a brand new filter in, is on the latest firmware and I unplugged and re plugged the wires on the back and have done several machine shutdowns but something is still wrong. I have also placed a ticket in (4757).  It’s also a Ultimaker S5 pro bundle with material station with air filtration.

    Hi @ccmaker2020,

It is possible that you may need a new fan. If you also want to get in touch with support to isolate the cause and work towards a solution, please reach out to us via this link: https://support.ultimaker.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

    Thank you!
