This is a MacOS security feature which prevents unsigned applications to start (for the first time only)

Open your Finder got to Applications and right click on the Cura application and select open. Then another message box appears asking if you want to start it or not.

Every further start goes then completely normally.

Then I guess you don't have move the application to the application folder?

When you download Cura you get a *.dmg file, which opens automatically. There you find the application itself "Ultimaker Cura".

Just drag and drop the file to your application folder shown in the Finder sidebar.

Then go to the application folder, scroll down to "Ultimaker Cura" do the right click, open, confirm and that's it.

MacOS normally flags the file after you confirmed it to open anyway.

When this is not working in your case then it probably cannot write the flag, which is normally the case when you start Cura directly from the DMG image and not from the application folder.

But when you have done this and it is still not working, I am lost and have currently no more ideas. But it is not a problem of Cura, you will have the same issues with other applications which are not signed by Apple.

Small correction: He will have the same issues with other applications which are not signed by a registered developer. It is strange that the official Ultimaker Cura app is not signed with a developer certificate. @nallath, care to shine your light on this?
