Feature request - z height in preview mode

During a print, I often find myself looking at the part being printed, and wondering how many more layers it will be until the print gets to a certain tricky bit.

I can preview the gcode in Cura, but it only tells me the number of the layer being printed. My printer, however, works in XYZ coordinates, and doesn't really have a concept of layer numbers. And with adaptive layer heights, it's not easy (sometimes impossible) to convert between the two.

Any chance the preview could be modified to also show the z-height?

I would really appreciate that! It's been a feature request since 2017 (maybe longer) and for the reasons explained by deeirl there are situations where there is no workaround, or at least I don't know one.
