Are there any plans to allow the material station to use 3rd party filaments? I've just tried to load some Filamentive PETg in ours and it doesn't let me select it? It would be a shame if we can only use the Ultimaker filaments, not that there is anything wrong with them, but it would be good to able to use 3rd party filaments of types that Ultimaker don't manufacture and sell

Ultimaker supposedly allows any material with their printers - the more critical thing is if the material physically fits into the material station.  I don't have the material station but I believe you can maybe select "ultimaker CPE" on the material station?  I really don't understand how this works.  Maybe @Dim3nsioneer can explain.

The material selection on the Pro Bundle works exactly the same as on a stand-alone S5 with one exception: the material profile must be compatible with the material station.

As you already figured out, Ultimaker material profiles are of course all compatible with the Material Station. In addition, some Ultimaker partner materials are also already compatible with the Material Station; it's up to the individual manufacturers/brands to make their filaments compatible or not. You can find out if they are or not at marketplace.ultimaker.com.

For other third party materials, or such that are in the marketplace but not yet compatible, you can use one of the generic filament types; those also work with the Material Station. But please keep in mind that using generic types can (but doesn't have to) lead to issues at loading or unloading of the material.

Thanks for getting back to me guys, I did think that the material station would be able to use 3rd party materials but had missed the part about it being stated on the marketplace which ones are compatible. Guess I'll have to look through to see which PETg is compatible with the station, not sure I want to chance using the generic profile just to be on the safe side.

Generic CPE should not be that different. Important thing is that temperatures are about right; the fine tuning can be done in Cura.

Cheers, I'll check the generic CPE and go from there
