Posted · Help with Cura strange zig zag support behavior

Hi, I'm posting for help in the Software section because I believe this just may be setting/software related. I have this issue where the straight vertical supports are leaning and zig zagging during the print. As of right now, I really doubt it's mechanical (like belt, stepper motor related) just because everytime I see this, the model itself is not affected. I've printed several large objects that all exhibited this behavior but the model printed without any layer shifting whatsoever. I'm concerned about this print because the supports are just going to be so tall. Any ideas as to what's causing this? Thanks.

How did this end up turning out for you with tall prints? I'm getting the same issue but my model seems to somehow come out OK. There is no layer shifting in the model so it's really strange that it still prints directly on top of the previous layer for the support. It's almost as if this is built in by intention but not showing up in the preview.
