how useful is meshlab?

hi,

I downloaded meshlab, cool piece of software indeed but... I really don't undertand the large number of filters it has.

Is Meshlab useful for something in particular (more than converting files) like repairing or visualizing defective meshes?

How to use it in a 3dprinting common workflow like this:

1 3d editing (sketchup or blender or sculptris etc etc)

2 file conversion (original to stl)

3 slicing

4 gcoding

5 printing

COuld meshlab repair, edit, verify or at least doing something useful more than file conversion?
