Posted · Different adhesion types per model on the same build

They all have to be brim.  Then select a model that you don't want a brim on and click on "Per Model Settings" and "Print as Normal Model" and then "Select Settings" and select the "Brim Distance" setting.  If you enter a 3 then the brim will stay 3mm away from that model.  You will still be printing a brim all the way around, but it won't be in contact with any model that you change the brim distance on.

I'm using Cura 5.8.0 and per model settings does not appear to have the "Brim Distance" parameter available. If you type "Build Plate Adhesion" in the search bar - it pulls up a category title - but there are no items beneath it.   Wondering if there's a workaround for the "different adhesion types per model on same build" issue in 2024.

Maybe there was such a setting four years ago when that was posted (I was in sort of the middle of a "printing hibernation" so wasn't keeping up with things then), but I'm pretty sure there isn't one now.

As for a workaround? If you're printing in One at a Time mode you could slice each model separately (obviously make sure they're in different positions on the plate with enough room around them) and splice the gcode files together manually.

Although that goes against the general advice of "if you don't know how to mess to with gcode, don't".
