Multi-Extruder suggestions - Nozzle Allocations/etc

I have a Geetech A20T and using the multi-extruder is brilliant, but there are some suggestions that improve Cura for it.

1.) Allow increase of Extruders against default profiles.

The Geetech for Example is set to 3 Nozzles, however, using M163/M164 commands additional Tools can be created with "Virtual" Extruders.

Marlin handles this "Mixing_Extruders" with ease, but in order to set them up, a new "custom FDM Printer" is needed, otherwise the extruder amount is Locked.

2.) Allow changes to the Name generated when printing.

By default all prints use the default name given from the profile, "E2_", "E3_","CCR10S" etc, however as 3d Printers are often modified adapted, or changed, why not allow this prefix to be modified, Especially where for example someone has configured a CR10S to have direct drive extruders altering the retraction distance, if they have a second CR10S, that wont work the same.  Offering a "nickname" for this or Prefix configuration.

3.) On Allocating a Part to a specific extruder, allow the option to set All printable items (Support, Bed Adhesion, Walls, etc to that Extruder, it can be an ask once question "Dont' ask me this again tick box" for those who always use a static extruder for all prints (such as PVA extruder" At least this way, users can choose.

4.) When selecting different filament types, Pull these settings into the extruder configuration, I routinely have to reset my printing temperatures, which I have set on my printables.

5.) Offer a set all extruders/filaments to same temperature settings. - Mixing extruders will not have separate print temperatures, so it may be good to allow a "Unify settings" option that aligns everything together?

6.) (Add-in Improvement.) On Octoprint integration of the monitor page - Offer flow/Feed Rate controls - This would make it complete?

Obviously if theres a way I can help, let me know.

There is a great plugin in the Marketplace where you can do a lot more with the filename. Check it out, I think you can achieve with it what you want.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
