ER61 - Resolution wizard causes Z-axis to drive beyond limits

Recommended Posts

Posted · ER61 - Resolution wizard causes Z-axis to drive beyond limits

ISSUE/BUG: Z-axis actuates to drive the bed down, even though the bed is already contacting the limit switch.  Stepper motor can be heard skipping steps as it continues to go down beyond physical limit.

WHEN: Only occurs following completion of the wizard for resolving ER61 (Material Station failed to unload material).  This has occurred in 2 of the 3 times that the error was generated.

It appears that this only occurs if the print bed is already contacting the Z-axis limit switch when ER6`1 is generated.  It remains in that location until the wizard steps are completed.  upon completion the z-axis immediately tries to travel further down, beyond physical limits.

NOTE: I've gotten ER61 3-4 times now, due to trying to print Igus i180 with the generic Nylon profile (since the igus profile is not material station compatible).

*I'm using the S5 Pro Bundle with Firmware

Thanks @bvsengineering for reporting this, I'll add the bug to the backlog and have a look. Will update when I know more!

The switches are only actively used when homing... That has been the case since the UM2 and it does occasionally make printers create horrible noises like this 😞.
