Printer Profiles Missing after Update to Cura 4.8

I've been using cura for about a year and never had this issue before, when I updated from 4.7.1 to 4.8 all of my user created profiles disappeared, is there any way to get them back or am I going to be forced to start from scratch?

That depends. When you installed Cura 4.8, it asked you if 4.7 should be uninstalled. When 4.7 was uninstalled, it asked you if all its settings should be removed as well. If you answered affirmative to that, the configuration files were removed and unless you have a backup of your system from before you installed Cura 4.8 those files are gone.

 

If you did not uninstall Cura 4.7, or you told the uninstaller not to remove the settings, then you should be able to use Cura 4.7 with your old settings and profiles. However, I am afraid for you it is the former scenario, because in the scenario where your configuration was not removed Cura 4.8 would have inherited that configuration.
