@GregValiant
Thanks for the quick reply. I just re-checked my settings in 4.8. Coasting is not enabled. Matter of fact I do not have any "experimental" settings on the "print settings" menu.

There is a search bar above the settings. To the right is a drop down menu where you can select "All" to show all settings.
Or you can just Search for "Coasting".
You had Coasting enabled when the 3mf file was generated. The model will print fine (provided all your other settings are good).
Well.....I see what happened. It seems I must have played with this in 4.7 but decided not to use it and made it "not visible" in the menu.
When 4.8 was installed, it used the same profile that was in 4.7.
In 4.7 it was no longer visible, but I never de-activated coasting apparently. Hence is 4.8 it was also active but not visible.
I made it visible in 4.8 and deactivated it...Rookie mistake..thanks for the help in figuring it out.

That was odd. The 3mf file crashes my Cura 4.8.
I have to guess then, and I'm guessing you have "Coasting" enabled and your preview is set to show extrusions. There isn't any extrusion during that portion of a move that is the coast, and so you get a blank spot.
It doesn't crash 4.7. Yep, coasting is enabled.
