Which thing? There's *very* different things here. For one person, cura won't print through usb. For another - a completely different problem - cura crashes/hangs when they try to add a printer. For either issue we need to know if you have mac/pc/linux as the fixes are different (so we have 6 solutions ready for you).

Printing over USB is deprecated and no longer supported, and is a bad idea in general (don't want your computer to crash halfway through a print, do you?). It's a relic left over from when printers were too stupid to even read memory cards and needed to be hand-fed instructions. Now it is much better to use a memory card with your printer.
First time I printed through USB, the screen saver came on. Print ruined. I disabled that.
Second time it shut off the monitor and hard driver (not screen saver). Print ruined. I disabled that.
Third time it went into sleep mode (WTF!??). Print ruined. I disabled that. Did I learn my lesson? No.
Fourth time windows installed some update and rebooted without asking. Print ruined.
Also each time I was afraid to run any other software (couldn't browse web, couldn't check email) for fear that the USB wouldn't keep up.
That was it. I never printed through USB again. That was more than 10 years ago. Linux is much better about pausing your program versus windows but USB is pretty unreliable. If it's failing part way through a print and you really want to keep using it against advice, I'd at least try a different USB cable (many people said that helped) or a different computer with a USB port with stronger signals, or most recommended: get one of those cheap USB hubs - those will boost the USB signal nicely (usually).
