Brim and skirt won't work

Ive been using Cura with both skirts and brim with no problem for several days. All of a sudden neither works. The setting is there and it's turned on but neither skirt nor brim appear. I even reverted to the basic normal profile. Still nothing. Any suggestions?

Could you share your project file? So I can look into your project file. 

And give more information about which version of Cura and OS you are using.

I figured out the problem. When I printed the file, the brim was there. I realized that I had turned off helpers in the layer view menu. Thanks anyway!
