Need help installing on Linux Mint

So, trying to get this installed on Linux Mint, and uhm, I'm having problems. I download.... Well, something. And when I try to install I get a Py script that runs and shoots out a bunch of nonsense folders with extensions I've never even dreamed about. I don't know what to do with all this. Since I don't have an extra few years to go back to college for Linux admin, I was wondering if anyone here had any idea how to get it installed? Is there an alternate repo, maybe where someone has packaged this into a format that can be used by regular people? Much appreciated, thanks!

Did you try the .appimage that we provide (the one you get from https://ultimaker.com/software/ultimaker-cura.)

In order to run that, you need to right click the file, go to properties, and select "allow executing file as program"

Oh geez, I didn't even see that, wow. Thanks! But uhm, why appimage? That's like, kinda crazy.

Why is an appimage crazy? We've had far less issues with appimages than with .deb's
