Cura shuts down

Hello,

I have, until recently, been using another slicing software.

Now that I've upgraded my 3D printer to use a 2-in-1 extruder/hotend, I've had to look at using something else that would be able handle such an assembly.

Having already got Cura 4.10 (used as ancillary for Autodesk Fusion 360, in order to create STL files), I have found that i am having a problem opening files.

(This also happening with Cura 4.11 and Cura 4.12).

Open Cura...any above versions.

I click on either File/Open file(s) or Open file icon (top left). I navigate to relevant folder and click on required file. After a few seconds Cura shuts down. This scenario also sometimes happens  whilst navigating to relevant folder.

Anyone any idea what's going on here?

Thanks

Tom

Same problem here Tom. I did post this on the "Report a Bug" tab of the new version. We'll see what happens. ; )

I also clicked on Help - Show Configuration Folder - And nothing happens.   ??

Thanks for that. I uninstalled the Chitubox thumbnail preview and Cura is doing what it's supposed to do.

I still need Chitubox for my other printer, and I'm hoping that the above solution has addressed another Issue I've been having since installing Chitubox, i.e. computer randomly giving a "black screen of death" if I've used Chitubox that day.

Anyway, many thanks for your help.

    Tom

I uninstalled Chitubox and it works now.

    Thank you.

It's too bad we have to modify or remove a working program to make another program work. Is it a problem with Cura or a problem with Chitubox?

Is either company trying to come up with a fix?

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
