Posted · Generate support INSIDE model (boolean space)

Hi guys -

I have a model which is a cube minus the hero model itself, for molding purposes.

However, even if i turn the support settings up all the way, it will not generate support "inside" of the walls. I can work around this by turning up the inFill, but that increases the printing time to an insane level.

If you look at this image of the preview, you will see that on the right, it suddenly starts printing a piece of the boolean'ed model, in thin air. I need support beneath that.

Any help appreciated!!

You have Cura set for support "Everywhere"?

I looks like that feature comes to a point on the bottom and it's possible that your "Minimum Support Area" is set to high.

You can also add Support Blockers (or custom supports) then use the Per Model settings to configure them to "Print as Support".

This is with support turned off but the blocker is configured to Print as Support.  They can be moved and scaled like any other mesh.
