Cura generating tree supports that clip/go through the inside of the model

Basically the title, the supports are generated on/through the model. I'm running Cura 5.10, and its happened on multiple models.

I recall seeing a bug report regarding Tree Supports on GitHub where this problem occurred.  Oddly enough, this behavior wasn't the subject of the report so I'm having trouble finding it.  Maybe @nallath can comment.

This is the closest I have seen but in my case the supports go through the model but they do not generate inside the model. after downloading 5.1.1 from github the issue remains, but after restoring 5.0  AND other even pre-5.1 versions older files the issue seems to appear
