X-axis shift

Recommended Posts

Posted · X-axis shift

My S3 has suddenly started shifting each successive print layer on the X-axis by approx 8mm.

It does this on files that we've printed many times before and are stored on the USB stick.

We haven't changed material, and I've done the standard maintenance checks but no change.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

    Hey @seadogsmith,

Welcome to the Ultimaker Community 🎉

It seems like something is wrong with your adhesion.

You can find tips to improve your adhesion here: https://support.ultimaker.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012015680-Build-plate-adhesion-How-to-get-your-print-to-stick-to-the-build-plate

Did something change in the enviroment, is it hotter or colder than usual?
Did you apply a glue or did you change the type of glue you are using?

The guys at 3Dgbire pointed me in the right direction...the screws holding one of the motors had slackened off and the drive belt was jumping on the pulley. 5 mins with a hex key and all is well!
