Turn off webcam?

Recommended Posts

Posted · Turn off webcam?

I've noticed in multiple versions of Cura, whenever it's printing, my laptop webcam light comes on. Even if I have the timelapse turned off, it's occupying my webcam, which means I can't Skype while it's printing. Is there some way to turn off the webcam within Cura?

I'm using a reprap. I'd have to install an SDcard reader and I think update my firmware to support it. Is there any way to do it within the software?

Thanks from me too. I'm running 14.01 (stable) under the wine Windows emulator on Linux - and getting a crash, which I trace back to Cura/gui/util/webcam.py/vidcap.pyd in the backtrace. Cura is able to detect my controller (ttyUSB0) but seems to not play well with the Linux webcam under wine's emulation.

I was hoping the stable release would avoid other problems - now it looks like I'll have to grab it as soon as it is out.

Use the linux release ;-)

RC7 for Debian/Ubuntu is very stable and will be made official soon.
