Material 2 Feeder Motor not working

Posted · Material 2 Feeder Motor not working

We have a s5 and I am attempting to load PVA into the Material 2 feed but as I progress through the load steps, the motor does not spin when it attempts to feed. I have taken the cover off the feed assembly to verify the feeder wheels do not spin. We have not used the material 2 feeder on this printer. I have 2 other s5's running 2 materials as I write this. On problem printer, Material 1 loads fine. 

 

Is there a reason this motor would stop working? I have other s5's...would swapping motors be an option? Should I purchase a new motor? Is there a different error I am missing?

    Well.. 5.5.x is incredibly old firmware..
    There has been.. actually an uncountable number of updates to the firmware since that version number in relation to this issue and the cause of it..

    I would recommend swapping motors (and cables) to verify if it still does not work.
    If it does not work after those tests, you will need a new mainboard because the stepper driver has died.

        Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface.
