New functionality and improvements

  • Improved logging. The printer's log files that can be saved to a USB drive now include network connectivity issue logging to improve diagnostics.

This means more robust logging for those of you reporting network related issues.
Please open a case with UltiMaker Support directly (Here) and provide a log file after this firmware has been installed.

  • Unified firmware build

Bug fixes

  • Print core LEDs should be accurate now
  • ER999 during XY calibration.
  • REST API pause. Fixed a bug in the REST API with PUT /print_job/state causing an ER999.

can the popup that is shown when new firmware is releases be disabled?

We have our printers in classroom spaces, I have blocked the settings off with a pin-code, but students are able to click the firmware update via the popup prompt that is triggered. I'd prefer this be done out of hours when we can control any issues that occur with new firmware.

Currently not that I am aware of.

I do know the Firmware Team is aware of this issue, unfortunately I do not know the schedule for its possible change/update.

in 8.2.0 the "device" and "usage" panels are still gone compared to 7.1.3

So there are still features missing by this "update"

And Your are still forced to join "digital factory" to get features You already had without this cloud nonsense.

    7.1.3

Are you able to supply the endpoints that host the firmware? If we downgrade to v7 to fix the crc errors I don't want them to upgrade again, and a quick fix will be to block the ip/address that hosts the firmware in our network filter.

Hopefully its not the same as Digital Factory

Unfortunately the firmware check is via https://software.ultimaker.com which is also used for other communications as well. So blocking it will likely break something else.
