Under extrusion then nozzle temp issue

Hi,

Printer: Ultimaker 2+ Extended (I purchased a 2 Extended with an upgrade kit)

Firmware:  vers 2.4x

I've had this printer since 2016 and have experienced no issues until recently.

I only print branded Ultimaker PLA filament. Slice in Cura and just print on defaults. That has worked for almost 7 years ! But...

My prints recently began under extruding. No change in printer location or ambient room temperature. I have:

1. Replaced the bowden tube.

2. Replaced the teflon collar.

3. Stripped and cleaned feeder - it was fine as tension was set to light setting anyway.

4. Tried old and brand new filament.

Now the nozzle is not hot enough to melt the filament. If I set the nozzle temp to 240 then hold filament against it - nothing. Barely even marks it. Obviously I cannot get filament through the print head.

I'm thinking this is likely a temp sensor issue, but don't want to spend any more money without some degree of certainty.

Curious if others have similar experience?

Thanks!

    Hello

had similar problems. The extrusion only worked cleanly when printing very slowly or from a nozzle diameter of 0.6.
The print nozzles were constantly (supposedly) clogged. PTFE couplers and Bowden cables did not make it any better. The Ex1 motor driver was still good.

I changed the feeders on my old UM2(+) and UM2+ at some point.
I had updated the feeders from UM2+ to Bondtech.

Since then it has been quiet again. This is just an experience report. Of course, I don't know what's wrong with your printer.

    Many greetings
