Hi so i recently got a creality ender 3 v3 KE and was wondering if its possible to hook it up via wifi for the ultimaker cura bc i love there softwere more than creality slicer. Also i was wondering when they would add support for my 3d printer in the software so i dont have to make a custom 3d printer

Any idea when 5.7 comes out?

I wouldn't hold my breath, 5.6 only came out a couple of weeks ago and major releases are usually at least a couple of months apart. At least you can download the profile for the KE from that pull request so you don't have to start from scratch (or more realistically, from another Ender-3 variant).

Can't help you with the WiFi though. My lowly E3V3SE doesn't have it. I do run it over WiFi, but that's because I had a Raspberry Pi I wasn't doing anything with laying around so I installed OctoPi and then OctoPrint connects to the printer over USB.

Just know that whatever hassle using Cura is over Creality Slicer, it's worth it. Creality Slicer is forked from a fairly old version of Cura so its slicing engine isn't nearly as good (and I'm not sure if it was designed to do that, but the first thing I sliced and printed with it had no bottom layers, just an uninterrupted view of the infill... WTF?), my experience might be worse than other peoples' but nothing I sliced in Creality Slicer came out right (although that was 3 or 4 things before I gave up).

    Slightly tedious:

At the top of that page, go to the "files changed" tab:

    image.thumb.png.c100ecb2a29e1c0b14c169f72ed10ace.png

Now it'll show youy all the files in the PR on the left:

    image.thumb.png.68da987bacb5849360753f82aa687188.png

For each file, there's a bunch of buttons at the top right:

    image.thumb.png.9b65a70757ba410ed18a2d3c6ac49659.png

You want to click the ... button and then go to View file. This will open the file in the main repo. This will also have a bunch of buttons at the top right:

    image.png.083c912db5d3946ed0df9b6840afe5ab.png

You want the download button (it's the one with the down arrow two to the right of "raw".

Normally I'd say put the files in the Cura configuration folder but if you're on Windows (where you can actually edit the installed files) it's better to put it in the installation folder so it'll just get replaced by the same files when you install 5.7.

On Windows, if you're using the default path, you want to put the creality_ender3v3ke.def.json file in C:\Program Files\UltiMaker Cura 5.6\share\cura\resources\definitions\

If you're not using Windows and have to put them in the Cura config folder, go to the config folder (in Cura go to Help > Show configuration folder and it should open it) and put it in the "definitions" subfolder.

Now in your browser go back to the PR and for all the other files, (the nozzle variants), go to the file the same way and download them, in the installation folder they should go in C:\Program Files\UltiMaker Cura 5.6\share\cura\resources\variants\creality\ folder or in the config folder just the variants\creality\ subfolder (you may have to create the creality folder).

    Hope that's not too confusing.
