Posted · Poor Layer adhesion on Ultimaker 2+ Connect

Hi All,

I've recently changed my nozel out for a 0.4mm Microswiss Hardended steel one as I am planning to print Nylon CF15.

Since swapping it over and running test prints with my standard PLA, I've been struggeling to get good adhesion bwetween layers,  especially with the frist few layers.

The extrusion looks okay, however the parts are much weaker when pulling in the printed axis.

I've re-leveled and checked the extruder,  is there something else I'm missing?

Many thanks,

Joe

If you have installed a steel nozzle you will likely need to increase the nozzle temperature a bit even for PLA.

    Additionally,
I would caution about printing abrasives on the 2+ Connect.

This isn't recommended by UltiMaker as it may damage the feeder overtime, its not rated for use with abrasive materials.

It would also be why UltiMaker does not directly sell a hardened nozzle for the 2+ Connect.
